Chairman of the AOI and Minister of the Public Business Sector witness the signing of two cooperation protocols to support and deepen local manufacturing

Major General Engineer Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, and Engineer Mohamed Shimi, Minister of the Public Business Sector, witnessed the signing of two cooperation protocols between the organization and the Holding Company for Cotton, Spinning, Weaving and Clothing, and the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels, affiliated to the Ministry of the Public Business Sector.

 

This cooperation comes within the framework of implementing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to enhance industrial cooperation and integration between various state institutions, deepen and increase the rates of local manufacturing, encourage national products, and manufacture what is imported from abroad according to the latest quality standards.

 

In this regard, Major General Engineer Mokhtar Abdel Latif expressed his appreciation for strengthening the existing cooperation with the Ministry of the Public Business Sector, and opening new areas for partnership by benefiting from the advanced manufacturing capabilities of the Arab Organization for Industrialization in accordance with Egypt's vision for sustainable development 2030.

 

He explained that cooperation with the Holding Company for Cotton, Spinning, Weaving and Clothing includes benefiting from the distinguished manufacturing and technological capabilities of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, including machines, equipment, laboratories, research centers and human cadres, with the aim of deepening the local manufacturing of metal and plastic parts that are currently procured from abroad, pointing to the training and qualification of engineers and technicians at the Holding Company in mechanical and electrical maintenance / mechanical operation of machines of various types / welding in the AOI's factories and the Training Academy at the Arab Organization for Industrialization. He added that the areas of cooperation include procuring all equipment for the Holding Company for Cotton, Spinning, Weaving and Clothing, including, for example, renewable energy systems, surveillance cameras, interactive screens, office furniture, water purification stations, wastewater treatment and other products.

Regarding cooperation with the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels, the Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization indicated that it was agreed to provide the products of the Authority's factories and companies through the companies of the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels, in a way that meets all the needs of the Egyptian people for national products related to the needs of consumers with high-quality and environmentally friendly local manufacturing rates, under the slogan (Made in Egypt).

 

For his part, Eng. Mohamed Shimi, Minister of the Public Business Sector, expressed his welcome and pride in cooperation with the Arab Organization for Industrialization, explaining that this cooperation comes within the framework of ongoing efforts and executive work plans to develop the performance of affiliated companies, achieve maximum benefit from assets and maximize their returns, achieve integration between national manufacturing entities, exchange expertise, and invest their industrial and technological capabilities and human cadres to support national industry and local products according to the highest quality standards.

 

The Minister explained that there are a number of areas of cooperation subject to the protocol between the Arab Organization for Industrialization and the Holding Company for Spinning and Weaving, including deepening local manufacturing of metal and plastic parts and spare parts imported from abroad, in addition to some maintenance and overhaul work. Areas of cooperation include providing fixed sales outlets at the organization to display the products of the holding company, which will also provide uniforms for the organization's employees. He added that according to the protocol, products from the factories and companies of the Arab Organization for Industrialization will be supplied and displayed in the branches of the domestic trade companies affiliated with the Holding Company for Tourism (Omar Effendi, Sidnawi and the sale of manufactured products, high-end fashion houses (Benzayon/Hano), within the framework of implementing the work plan to advance these branches and revive their long-standing brands, improve performance and services provided to customers and gain their trust, develop display and sales methods, and provide various local products at prices that suit the Egyptian citizen. The cooperation protocols were signed by Major General Engineer Abdel Rahman Abdel Azim Othman, Director General of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, and on behalf of the Ministry of the Public Business Sector, Dr. Ahmed Shaker, Executive Managing Director of the Holding Company for Cotton, Spinning and Weaving, and Accountant Amr Attia, Executive Managing Director of the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels.
