This visit comes within the framework of handing over one of the subway trains (the third line) produced by the Semaf factory under the supervision of the South Korean Hyundai Rotem Company, in addition to inspecting the work of modernizing the manufacturing mechanisms and production lines in the factory according to digitization systems and artificial intelligence, as well as developing production capacities and infrastructure for the manufacturing industry. During the visit, the Minister of Transport listened to an explanation about the vision and plan of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, which it is successfully implementing to localize the latest manufacturing technologies, increase local manufacturing rates, and modernize production lines for the railway and subway industry according to specific timetables. The implementation rates of existing projects between Transport and Arab Industrialization were also followed up. During the delivery of one of the metro trains (Line 3), Major General., Engineer Mokhtar Abdel Latif, stressed the AOI 's interest in implementing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to enhance constructive cooperation between state institutions and exploit all productive capacities to increase local manufacturing rates and localize technology by benefiting from of global experiences.
He expressed his pride in the visit of Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, to the SEMAF factory of the authority, and his continued serious support for cooperation with the Arab Organization for Industrialization, the industrial backyard of the state, praising the efforts of the Ministry of Transport to develop and modernize all aspects of transport and road projects in an unprecedented manner, according to a well-studied scientific vision.
He pointed to the importance of localizing the transport industry in Egypt to support the railway system, the metro and smart means of transportation, because of its positive impact on the Egyptian economy and the reduction of imports.
