Chairman of the AOI and Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Witness the signing of a contract to establish a joint industrial project for solar panels

Major General Engineer "Mokhtar Abdel Latif" Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, and Dr. "Mahmoud Esmat" Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, witnessed the signing of a contract to establish a joint industrial project for solar panels between the Arab Company for Renewable Energy affiliated to the organization, and the Swedish company Sunshine Pro.

 

The attendees included Major General Engineer "Abdel Rahman Abdel Azim Othman" General  Director of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, Engineer "Ghada El Gendy" Executive Director of the Arab Company for Renewable Energy affiliated to the organization, Dr. "Yahya Matini" Chairman of the Swedish company Sunshine Pro, and a delegation from the "Arab Union for Alternative Energy and Green Economy" headed by Dr. "Essam Sheikh El Ard" (Secretary General of the Arab Union for Alternative Energy and Green Economy).

 

This contract comes within the framework of the successful and continuous steps taken by the Arab Organization for Industrialization to localize technology, increase local manufacturing rates, manufacture what is currently imported, and attract investments in partnership with major international companies. This contract for the manufacture of solar panels is within the framework of the permanent coordination between the Arab Organization for Industrialization and the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and the successful and continuous steps taken by the organization to localize technology, increase local manufacturing rates, manufacture what is imported, and attract investments in partnership with major international companies, and in light of the urgent plan for the electricity and renewable energy sector to increase the capacities of new and renewable energies, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and reduce carbon emissions, in cooperation and partnership with the private sector and support local and foreign private investments in line with the state's vision supporting and backing the role of the private sector in the sustainable development plan, of which clean energy is one of the most important pillars.

 

In this context, Major General Engineer "Mokhtar Abdel Latif", Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, expressed his appreciation and pride in this cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and its support for all aspects of joint cooperation with the Swedish company Sunshine Pro, stressing the interest of the Arab Organization for Industrialization in maximizing the slogan (Made in Egypt).

 

He explained that the agreed upon areas of cooperation include establishing a joint industrial project for automatic solar panels, by establishing a modern production line with international quality specifications and standards with a capacity of (1) gigawatt annually under the name "Arab Swedish Energy Factory ASEF with N type technology", noting that this is a starting point for enhancing cooperation in the future in various investment projects.

He stated that the Arab Organization for Industrialization is looking forward to enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise with the Swedish company Sun Shine Pro, to develop integrated smart solutions in the fields of design and manufacturing, for renewable energy projects to meet the growing needs of the local market, in addition to participating in projects in African and Arab countries and the global market at competitive prices for joint products according to international quality standards.

In a related context, Major General Engineer "Mokhtar Abdel Latif" confirmed that the Arab Organization for Industrialization has an ambitious plan to meet all the needs of the local and African market in the field of electricity production from solar energy, and even enter global competition in the future, pointing to enhancing our manufacturing capabilities and production lines with all modern digital manufacturing systems so that we obtain high-quality solar panels that allow us to compete in the global market.

 

 For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Esmat stressed the permanent coordination and cooperation with all parties to support the electricity and renewable energy sector plan and the work strategy for the transition to clean energy, explaining the acceleration of the implementation steps of the projects being implemented to increase the added capacities of renewable energy to the national electricity grid, stressing that the private sector is a major partner in renewable energy projects and that the ministry is working to open the way for it and provide the necessary support to increase the participation of local and foreign private investments in clean energy projects, as well as localizing the manufacture of its special tasks, including solar cells, adding that there is an urgent plan to improve the quality and stability of electricity supply and rely on renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions and diversify energy sources and reduce the consumption of traditional fuel within the framework of the vision of sustainable development for the new republic.

 In turn, Dr. Yahya Matini, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Swedish Sunshine Pro Company, expressed his appreciation for this cooperation with the Arab Organization for Industrialization, which has a pioneering historical role that we are proud of in all areas of industry since its establishment, expressing his aspiration to localize technology and work to implement joint projects in the fields of renewable energy To meet all the needs of the local Egyptian market, Arab and African countries, and to work on opening new outlets for export to the global market, stressing that this cooperation will represent a great addition to the Egyptian economy, especially since we will work on designing and implementing a joint industrial project for automatic solar panels, with the national manufacturing capabilities of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, according to the latest international quality standards.
