The Chairman of the AOI and the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Agree to Form a Joint Alliance To Meet the Needs of the Presidential "Decent Life" Initiative

Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdellatif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, received Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, at Helwan Advanced Industries Factory.

 

The event was attended by Major General Eng. Abdel Rahman Abdel Azim Othman, General Director of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, Major General Eng. Gamal Ramadan, Chairman of the Engine Factory, Major General Eng. Tarek Abdel Fattah, Chairman of the Helwan Factory for Advanced Industries, Major General Engi. Mohamed Awad, Chairman of the Aircraft Factory, and leaders from the AOI, as well as from the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, including Dr. Eng. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing, Eng. Ahmed Omran, Vice Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority for Utilities, Eng. Mamdouh Raslan, Chairman of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater, and Major General Amin Shawky, Vice Chairman of the National Authority for Drinking Water and Wastewater and Acting Chairman of the Authority.

During the visit, a cooperation protocol was signed, aiming to form a joint alliance to meet the needs of the presidential "Decent Life" initiative.

 The agreement also aims to study the needs of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities and its affiliated agencies, leveraging the advanced manufacturing capabilities of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) to meet the needs of comprehensive development projects.

 

During the visit, the delegation reviewed the advanced manufacturing capabilities of the Engine and Aircraft Factories and the Helwan Advanced Industries Company in the field of civil products, including water, drinking, and sanitation projects.

These include the production of pumps used in drinking water and sanitation projects, particularly the pumps used and required in sewage pumping stations for rural villages under the "Decent Life" presidential initiative.

 The aircraft factory's manufacturing capabilities include the implementation of water purification and wastewater treatment plants with a 100% manufacturing rate.

 

During the visit, Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdellatif highlighted the efforts made by the AOI to localize the pump industry and strengthen the industrial base.

 According to the latest international quality standards, he highlighted the available capabilities and modern equipment used in the Digital Manufacturing Center at the Engine Factory, with the aim of meeting the needs of the Ministry of Housing projects for various types of pumps.

 

He added that the AOI aims to increase production capacity and manufacturing capabilities for pumps to meet the needs of the local market, in addition to exporting them abroad, in accordance with Egypt's Vision for Sustainable Development 2030.

 He noted the Arab Organization for Industrialization's commitment to the importance of speedy implementation, timely delivery, and the provision of periodic maintenance services with the required efficiency and highest levels of quality.

 

He praised the significant cooperation between the Arab Organization for Industrialization factories and companies and the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities on existing, ongoing, and planned projects to improve drinking water and sanitation services.

 He emphasized that the Arab Organization for Industrialization possesses all the advanced manufacturing capabilities to deepen and increase local manufacturing rates, localize technology, maximize the "Made in Egypt" slogan, meet all the needs of the Ministry of Housing, and participate in the implementation of various national and development projects.

For his part, the Minister of Housing stressed the need to combine efforts and harness all resources to complete projects in the villages of the "Decent Life" presidential initiative on time, in implementation of the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

He directed that needs be identified and new contracts be initiated for the projects, in addition to intensifying efforts by implementing companies and developing a weekly schedule to follow up on work with affiliated companies and the Arab Organization for Industrialization. He also emphasized periodic project inspections and ongoing coordination between ministry officials and the organization to achieve progress on the ground.

 

Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny explained that the Ministry of Housing attaches great importance to drinking water and sanitation services, believing in the paramount importance of these services in creating the necessary environment to improve citizens' standard of living and provide a healthy and safe environment. Therefore, the Ministry's policy places greater emphasis on achieving the highest levels of service quality and quantity, and directing investments towards improving water quality and increasing sanitation coverage in cities and villages, taking into account future needs and expected population growth.

 

During the visit, the Minister of Housing praised the capabilities of the engine and pump factory used in drinking water and wastewater stations, and the digital manufacturing center at the engine factory affiliated with the AOI, which he had visited previously.

 He expressed his happiness with the visit to the engine factory and the impressive volume of work and the manufacturing capacity of the AOI.

He also reflected the ability to provide various capabilities for projects and enhance the localization of local manufacturing for projects and their maintenance.

Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, inspected the production lines of the June 30th Factory and the gas pipe factory at the Helwan Advanced Industries Factory, which produces multi-diameter polyethylene pipes used in water, sewage, and natural gas projects.

He was briefed on the pioneering experience of the Arab Organization for Industrialization in localizing the manufacture of polyethylene pipes used in comprehensive development projects, fulfilling the state's plan to reduce imports and manufacture imported products according to international standards. He also inspected the various sections of the digital manufacturing lines, the modern systems used in the manufacturing process, and quality control and testing of parts used in the manufacturing process according to the latest international quality standards.or local products for projects.
