The Chairman of the AOI and the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities inspect the Digital Manufacturing Center at the Engine Factory

Major General Engineer "Mokhtar Abdel Latif", Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, received Engineer "Sherif El-Sherbiny", Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, at the headquarters of the Digital Manufacturing Center inside the Engine Factory.

This was in the presence of Major General Engineer "Abdel Rahman Abdel Azim Othman",   General Director  of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, Major General Engineer "Gamal Ramadan", Chairman of  the Engine Factory, and leaders from the Ministry of Housing, including Dr. "Sayed Ismail", Deputy Minister of Housing, Dr. "Mohamed Hassan", Head of the Regulatory Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation, Engineer "Mamdouh Raslan", Chairman of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation, and Major General "Ehab Khadr", Head of the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation.

During the visit, all the available capabilities of the engine factory were reviewed to produce all pumps used in drinking water and sanitation projects, especially the pumps used and required in sewage pumping stations for rural villages within the presidential initiative "Decent Life".

The various departments of the Digital Manufacturing Center, the modern systems used in the manufacturing process, quality control and testing of the parts used in the manufacturing process, and the required manufacturing time for the pumps were also inspected.

During the visit, Major General Engineer Mokhtar Abdel Latif explained all the efforts made to localize the pump industry locally and deepen the industrial base in the engine factory according to the latest international quality standards, pointing to the available capabilities and modern devices used in the Digital Manufacturing Center, with the aim of meeting the needs of the Ministry of Housing projects for pumps of various types.

He added that the goal of establishing the center is to increase production capacity and increase manufacturing capabilities of pumps to cover the needs of the local market, in addition to exporting abroad, in accordance with Egypt's vision for sustainable development 2030.

He praised the great cooperation between the factories and companies of the Arab Organization for Industrialization and the Ministry of Housing, in the existing, ongoing and planned projects, to improve drinking water and sanitation services, stressing that the engine factory affiliated with the Arab Organization for Industrialization possesses all the advanced manufacturing capabilities to deepen and increase the rates of local manufacturing and localize technology and maximize the slogan (Made in Egypt) in the field of pump manufacturing and meet all the needs of the Ministry of Housing and participate in the implementation of various national projects.

He pointed out the keenness of the Arab Organization for Industrialization on the importance of speed in implementation and delivery within the specified times and providing periodic maintenance services with the required efficiency and the highest levels of quality.

For his part, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, during his inspection of the digital manufacturing center at the engine factory, expressed his admiration for the technological progress and development in the manufacture of pumps and engines, which places it in the ranks of the largest international factories specialized in this important industrial field.

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny issued a directive to all the ministry’s departments to rely primarily on local products to implement various projects, and to prefer products that contain the highest percentage of local components, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to provide full support and encourage local industry and localize modern technologies, pointing to the strategic partnership between the ministry and the Arab Organization for Industrialization to manufacture the needs of the projects.
