Major General Engineer "Mokhtar Abdel Latif", Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, and Engineer "Essam El-Naggar", Chairman of the General Authority for Export and Import Control, witnessed the celebration of Atico Wood Industries Factory "affiliated to the Arab Organization for Industrialization obtaining the carbon footprint report, with international accreditation in the field of industrial application of green economy standards.
This comes within the framework of implementing the directives of President "Abdel Fattah El-Sisi" to localize the latest manufacturing technologies and increase local manufacturing rates, according to the requirements and standards of the green economy.
The celebration was witnessed by Major General Engineer "Abdel Rahman Abdel Azim Othman" General, Director of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, and Dr. Engineer "Sherif Raafat", Chairman of Atico Wood Industries Factory, and leaders from the organization.
In the presence of Engineer "Hani El-Dessouki", Executive Director of the National Accreditation Council "EGAC", Mr. Yasser Abdullah, CEO of the Waste Management Agency at the Ministry of Environment, and Eng. Ehab Deryas, Chairman of the Furniture Export Council.
In this regard, Major General Engineer Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, explained that this achievement was the result of continuous efforts and diligent work by the human cadres at the ATICO Wood Industries Factory affiliated to the organization, and the development of the factory to comply with international quality systems, as the grant was made after a comprehensive review by the General Authority for Export and Import Control affiliated to the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, of the manufacturing stages at the ATICO Wood Industries Factory, and it was confirmed that it complies with all carbon footprint requirements.
He pointed out that what we are witnessing today, we primarily aim to move to a low-carbon economy, achieve environmental sustainability, maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and use clean energy in all areas of manufacturing, meet all local needs and export, with high-quality products, increase our local and international customer base, as well as enhance a green future for future generations.
He added that this comes within the context of implementing an ambitious, scientifically studied plan for all factories and companies of the Arab Organization for Industrialization to obtain a carbon footprint report in many different industrial fields, within the framework of Egypt's vision for sustainable development 2030.
The Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization was keen to extend his thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, the General Authority for Export and Import Control, for its support for all aspects of joint cooperation and to everyone who contributed to achieving this achievement, noting that this is a starting point for enhancing future cooperation in other industrial and investment fields.
The honoring ceremony witnessed the delivery of certificates of appreciation to the honorees from the ATICO Wood Industries Factory and the General Authority for Export and Import Control for their efforts and dedication to developing and modernizing production lines according to the latest mechanisms of the green economy and environmental sustainability.
